A few pictures of Robert James, Kay, Mark and Amy "ice skating" over Christmas Holiday. We were able to rent the skates for 12 hours, but our ankles demanded that we turn them in after a full 60 minutes. After about 45 minutes Kay was able to let go of her "death grip" from the railing and move around the rink on her own. She only fell twice, the second time was a doozy bringing an end to the festivities. Amy likes the trendy look of fur coat and sweats.

Our part of the storm which ripped across the country were these hail pictures. The hail came down like is was rain and covered all of the ground.

Robert decided that he would try to work on his phobia of "snow". He puts it into the same category as "dirt" and does not like it to get on his green boots or gloves. With his new determination to overcome this, we purchased a sled and have been out about 4 times this winter. He likes moderate speed and preferably an audience.

Shameless plug for Pawleys Island.

This is our first snowman of the 2006 - 2007 Winter. Amy contributed her scarf and Robert reluctantly contributed his red pacifier.
Four photos of the lunar eclipse. We drove out into the country were there is an observatory. They had 10 or so telescopes that the public could look at the moon and other planets. Robert was excited that he could see up close Saturn and Venus, in addition to the Earth's shadow on the Moon. It was all of 25 degrees with a stiff wind blowing from the North, so several return trips were made to the car to warm up over the 90 minutes we were out there.
The red tint on the moon is caused by only red color spectrum being able to pass by the Earth and shine onto the moons surface. All other colors are absorbed by the Earth's atmosphere.
